The Preparatory Committee of the Congolese dialogue concluded its work. The contours and the timing of the dialogue are now known. So, is it established that compelling forum should start at the beginning of this September. Barring unforeseen circumstances, the taste of the dialogue could be given on Thursday, September 1, 2016. For how long?

Congolese Opposition: Political Prisoners should be Released

In a correspondence signed on August 27, the day of the closing of the Preparatory Committee's work, the Honourable Mokonda Bonza and Bussa Tongba, as members of the Office of opposition to the Preparatory Committee, wrote to Kodjo, to remind him pre opposition. In that letter, they annexed the harmonized list of political prisoners and opinion for which the opposition requires relaxation.

The DRC UN Mission supports Edem Kodjo

A good number of the United Nations Mission in Congo ,Kinshasa were some of the personalities to share the podium with the facilitator of the African Union on Tuesday 23 August, at the opening of the preparatory committee. This position was reaffirmed in the organisation press conference.

It is now certain that President Joseph Kabila will remain in office

There was no white smoke from the city of the African Union. The recommendations of the thematic commissions presented to the plenary and below the final political agreement of dialogue doesn't have all the assured components. Each of them, especially the presidential majority and the opposition, just covered nearly, collided again on entrenched positions. What about respect for the constitution, after December 19, the Prime Minister and the backbone of the Government in the case of a transition? What about the electoral calendar and the restructuring of INEC?

Oil Justice Now in Colombia

Big oil companies are devastating communities across the world. Their operations have forced people from their land, polluted the environment, and led to widespread human rights violations. This has certainly been the case with BP and other oil companies who started operating in the Casanare region of Colombia in the early 1990’s. There is evidence of kidnapping, torture, murder and disappearances. According to the Colombia Human Rights Data Analysis Group, an estimated 9,000 people were murdered and 3,000 have disappeared in Casanare over the past two decades.
